The Melancholic Temperament nasce come sottotitolo del progetto Black Bile che include Black Bile Merchandising, negozio su piattaforme e-commerce e Black Bile Studio, uno spazio fisico di produzione artistica. Secondo la teoria umorale, un eccesso o una deficienza di uno qualsiasi dei quattro fluidi corporei presenti in una persona, noti come umori, hanno un influsso diretto sul suo temperamento. Ciò che viene associato alla bile nera è, appunto, il temperamento melancolico.
Quest'ultimo, inteso come sublimazione e profonda accettazione di un sottile ma cupo stato di tristezza, è senza dubbio il sentimento che accompagna tutta la produzione artistica di El Nigro.
Definita elegante, suggestiva, poetica, evocativa, racchiude e richiama a sé quell'immaginario che affonda le radici nel folklore e attraversa la letteratura gotica Vittoriana. Come un rivolo scuro, raggrumato, l'inchiostro parte dal corpo, attraversa la carta e arriva all'anima dell'osservatore .

The Melancholic Temperament was born as a subtitle of the Black Bile project which includes Black Bile Merchandising, a store on e-commerce platforms and Black Bile Studio, a physical space for artistic production. According to the humoral theory, an excess or deficiency of any of the four bodily fluids present in a person, known as humors, have a direct influence on his temperament. What is associated with black bile is, in fact, the melancholic temperament.
The latter, understood as sublimation and profound acceptance of a subtle but gloomy state of sadness, is undoubtedly the feeling that accompanies all of El Nigro's artistic production.
Defined as elegant, suggestive, poetic, evocative, it contains and recalls that imagination that has its roots in folklore and crosses Victorian Gothic literature. Like a dark, clotted stream, the ink starts from the body, crosses the paper and reaches the soul of the observer.
